I am an artist painter based in Birmingham, creating raw, unpretentious works rooted in abstract figuration and surrealism. My paintings reject polished perfection to explore the unfiltered realities of life - from medical vulnerability and societal themes to dark humour and everyday absurdities. Driven by the philosophy of "Always a Different Theme", each canvas stands as an independent, thought - provoking narrative that refuses to play by traditional rules

There are no pretentious explanations defining these 
paintings, they are sincere visual interpretations from
what the titles express.

Pure flat local colour is used, there is no perspective, no shadows or highlights and details are kept to a minimum.

Drawing is the very essence of these artworks and anchors everything in the composition.

If subject matter were depicted simpler, the visual image and meaning would dimish.

 

They are never touched up or reworked.

Various mediums are used and applied to canvas, board or paper.

Always brings me, endless surprise, and never fails to excite.
